Dear colleagues,
For the first time in our history, two of the main international organizations for body psychotherapy, the ISC (International Scientific Committee) and the EABP (European Association for Body Psychotherapy), will be sharing their next international congress.
Over centuries Paris, affectionately named ‘the city of light’, has been a symbolic place for the fight for freedom and defining the rights of mankind. Now, next year Paris will become a place of convergence for body psychotherapists from all over the world.
This meeting will be an extraordinary occasion to share the richness and diversity of body psychotherapy as it developed during the twentieth century. We want especially to consider those older methods and traditions that have always understood that the human body is the carrier of consciousness and wisdom. We want to highlight as well how all our know-how and knowledge is being supported by the latest scientific studies on human functioning.
The Congress will also be a great occasion to celebrate the life and work of Wilhelm Reich. He died in 1957, and the official archives will be disclosed to the public fifty years after his death in 2007.
Expert guests have been invited to share their experiences and their specific approaches.
If you would like to present your experience and propose a practical or theoretical workshop you are very welcome.
In order to make the congress as accessible as possible the main lectures will be translated in five languages: French, English, German, Italian and Spanish.
The congress will take place at the Medicine Faculty (Paris University) in the Quartier Latin, close to Le Louvre.
Inspired by the success of the ISC Congress in 2005 in São Paulo, Brazil, and the EABP Congress in 2006 in Askov, Denmark, we are working to create a place, in the heart of Paris, of multi-cultural and multi-discipline exchange, aiming to leave you with glowing experiences of sharing and inspiration.
You are cordially invited to come and join this grand event.
The Congress Planning Committee is looking forward to seeing you in Paris.
On behalf of the organisation Committee,
François Lewin
